Spring View Hospital physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered recently to recognize the Spring View Wound Care Center as a recipient of both the Center of Distinction Award and the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Center of Distinction award comes after Spring View Wound Care achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92 percent within 28 median days to heal. Spring View also scored in the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics® Wound Care Centers® on the Clinical Excellence measure, which is the Comprehensive Healing Rate weighted by wound mix, and thus received the award named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics®.

The Spring View Hospital Wound Care Center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Treatment plans are unique to each patient and incorporate innovative techniques that focus on not just treating the wound’s symptoms, but healing the wound entirely by taking a disease management approach to eliminate the cause.

Advanced wound care modalities provided by Spring View wound care experts include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. In addition, the Center has two state-of-the-art hyperbaric chambers used to facilitate the healing process for patients suffering from persistent, traumatic wounds. Patients who utilize the chambers breathe 100 percent oxygen, delivering high concentrations of oxygen to their bloodstream to facilitate the body's healing processes and help fight infections.
